The True Identity of a Women

In an ironic lead in the novel, the storyteller attempts to define her aver identity by going off with a cattle rustler, but in some odd sort she is trying to gain aid and an identity by traveling a r asidee convertible to the chicken Wo spell of her grandfather's stories, a woman who mysteriously went by superstar day and then returned home with twin children. However, the teller understands that she can never be Yellow woman because he is of a different time, place and space than the woman whose exploits engage become legend among her people, "I go out see someone, at long last I will see someone, and then I will be certain that he is only a man-some man from nearby-and I will be sure that I am not Yellow Woman. However, despite her differences to Yellow Woman, the narrator attempts to expand her identity and experiences in a similar musical mode by going off with a man who is not her husband.

In Desperately Seeking Susan, we are presented with the story of Roberta Glass, a suburban New Jersey housewife who is married in an unsatisfying relationship to a yuppie hot tub salesman who has microscopic understanding of his wife's need for any role bigger than the one his income and ideologies provide for her.
