Biodiversity Project
What is Biodiversity?
Biodiversity is the number of different species within an area and likewise the genetic variation that exists within each species. It also includes the lop of habitats and communities that are present in an area.
Why is Biodiversity important?
It is the biodiversity on Earth that allows for savages, plants and humans to share the planet- If one species is destroyed, several, maybe redden hundreds more, may follow.
It gives us humans a wide categorization of choice when it comes to food, fuel and recycling.
My Endangered animal:
The endangered animal I have chosen is the koala bear. koalas have flex endangered because:
* It is valued for its soft fur.
* If a disease is mobilise among them, they have no resistance against it because of them having the same genetic pool. wherefore they are not immune to disease and if one Koala gets a virus, the whole community is infected by it as well. Often these diseases experience disastrous results and hundreds or thousands or maybe even millions can be wiped out because of a sensation virus.
* Their habitat is being destroyed. Besides having no living place, it has missed its source of food. As the Koala is a very particular(a) eater and almost only eats eucalyptus leaves, it has a limited supply of food choice.
Conservation program to bear koalas: By 1930, koalas were so rare that animal experts believed the species could disappear altogether. The organization made new laws to protect it. Large scale hunt down was completely banned. Koalas in South Australia had already been wiped out. Conservation workers launched projects to bring them back to areas where they once lived. Koalas living farther north were caught and released into able woodlands in the south. These re- introductions worked well and the koalas bred success beneficialy.
