śrī-bādarāyaṇir uvāca
indram evaḿ samādiśya
bhagavān viśva-bhāvanaḥ
paśyatām animeṣāṇāḿ
tatraivāntardadhe hariḥ
TRANSLATION
Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī engender tongue to: After instructing Indra in this way, the Supreme nature of Godhead, Hari, the cause of the cosmic manifestation, then and there disappeared from the presence of the on looking demigods.
O King Parikshit following the Lords instructions the demigods approached Dadichi, the give-and-take of Aparva. He was very liberal and when the begged him to give them his dead body he at once parti entirelyy agreed however vindicatory to hear spiritual instructions from them he smiled and jokingly communicate as follows: O elevated demigods, at the time of terminal sever unbearable pain takes away the consciousness of sprightliness(a) entities who have accepted this worldly bodies dont u know about this pain?
In this material existence every living entity is very much addicted to this material body, struggling to keep his body forever, everyone tries to protect it by both means even by the sacrifice of all his possessions; therefrom who would be prepared to deliver his body to anyone even if it were demanded by Lord Vishnu.

It is said atmanam sarvatho rakshe tato dharman tato dhanam one must protect his body by all means then he may protect his religious principles and thereafter his possessions. This is the natural desire of all natural living entities. No one wants to give up his body unless it is forcibly given away, even though the demigods said that they were demanding Dadichis body in accordance with the order of Lord Vishnu. Dadichi superficially refused to give them his body.
