The atomic bombs werent dropped to bring up anger in Japan, but to stop all future killings and to end the war. A halcyon settlement, Potsdam Declaration, was sent to Japan prior to the bombing.

We offered a peaceful way to end the war, and pledged to even let Japanese prisoners of war return home safely. The Japanese didnt accept this Declaration though, they werent going to end the war by surrendering, and they couldnt dishonor themselves or their country in that manner.
The Japanese held a strong mind set for their selves from their ancestors culture, last before Dishonor.
