Delirium is the book I chose. It is written by Lauren Oliver. The word delirium means a state of emotion. In this case the emotion is whop. In this book love is considered a disease. They call it Amor deliria nervosa. Lena, the flat character, couldnt wait to get her government-mandated retrieve. This cure prevents the delirium of love. The cure also leads to a safe, predictable, healthy, and happy purport/ relationship. The mint who refuse the cure and run away ar called Invalid(s). The setting for this story is a few hundred years in the future.
Lenas internal conflict is that she gets the disease. She cant tell anyone about it or they will take her to the crypts and attract her down before she can even say her name. subsequently she has caught it, she says she rather be in love for the tiniest silver befriend then live a hundred years surround by a lie. The external conflict is that everyone keeps on tattle her the cure will help her and shes pushed too far.



Her lover, Alex, who is an Invalid, is not cured. The conflict is that is that she was raised to trust the society, but now she doubts it all.
What I actually wish welld about this book is the fact that love is considered a disease instead of a good thing. It really makes you think twice about love, hate, and stuff like that. Also, when youre reading the book, you can easily imagine yourself in Lenas shoes, doing the same thing and not regretting it.
