As Americans, we think that just because we live in the infracoat of the free, that that is what we argon. We think that we were given rights by our founding fathers and under no circumstance should they ever be taken away, violated, or curb in any way. We look at the administration, when we are not under attack, and believe they have no right to get a line in on phone calls or search tribe at the airport. Then, when we have a set of planes hit government buildings same(p) they did on September 11th or a van drives in to a federal building like in Oklahoma City in 1995 and we look at that same government and ask why they didnt do more to s vertex the attack. I believe that we as the American people are the reason that the government could not do more to stop the attacks. While it is a violation of our infixed and thoroughgoing rights, American citizens should be go forthing to forfeit authoritative civil liberties to ensure national security, gather foreign Intel, and rule in the threat of further terrorist attacks; the safety of American citizens should be the top priority. In this paper, I will examine several constitutional amendments and evaluate the pros and cons of forfeiting civil liberties to ensure national security.




There are many ways that the government limits our rights, but in no way do I think that the government has on the whole taken away any of the rights given to us under the Constitution. When you look at our rights, some say that we have needlessly lost them in the severalise of freedom and security of our nation. I agree. The rapid expansions of the governments powers have started to break obliterate the First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, and Fourteenth amendments. A vital piece of legislation that started the volume of the conflict regarding freedom vs. liberty was the U.S. Patriot turn of events. I will look at each of these amendments along with the Patriot Act and evaluate which civil liberties should be forfeited in the name of security.
