Lab: audio frequency in Strings and Tubes
I. Introduction:
The look sharp of big(a) is non constant, but varied. It varies with pressure, temperature, and where it is traveling through. The vibrations of kinetic energy molecules stimulate the speed of sound, making the molecules adjacent and tightening their bonds. For example, sound waves gutter go through solids much easier than moltens because, the molecules in solids are close together and tightly bonded. Also, It is harder for sound to go through gases than liquid because the particles are much farther apart. Air is the ideal gas. The speed of sound through air at sea train is measured at 346m per second. String and wind instruments are a great way to explain these procedures. String instruments create sounds by vibrating its strings, with low chuck outes from its long duration or low tension, with gamy pitches from short length string or high tension. patch the wind instruments require almost the same but, use tubes kinda of strings. The wind instruments has a type of resonator, which a certain come up of air is set into vibrations of the player blowing it, to help create sound.
The length of the tube and manual modifications establishes the pitch of the sound by the players desire. In this lab, we leave determine the way a string and wind instruments make sound waves.
II. Purpose:
After this lab, you will understand what factors, such as length, tension, and
Thickness, affect sound in string and tube (wind) instruments.
III. guessing:
If the length of a string instrument is shorten, then the pitch will become higher because, of shorter wavelengths and higher tension in that string compared to the longer ones. If the end of a tube is unlikeable then the pitch will be lower because the wavelength will be blocked and the sound waves have to exit through one hole.
