“Death March of Bataan”

This film gives a survivors placard of the inhumane march that both Filipinos and Americans were forced to watch part of by the Japanese. The film aims to give an accurate account of the actual happenings that have been somewhat forgotten in American history. Why have American classrooms chosen to ignore this?

I could not believe the things I witnessed in this film. This film really made me wonder why these things were not taught to us in American History. As one of the survivors says they merit a place in history. I completely agree, the things these survivors went through and through were beyond a nightmare. Surviving this march was nothing compendious of a miracle.
Even if the men did survive it seems that they would be stuck with the horrific memories of the march.

The survivors gave accounts of multiple times people were unable to go on with the march, these people would be either shot or bayoneted. It is rough for me to imagine the Japanese were forced to believe in a cause so great they would be able to wield prisoners of war in such fashion.
