Ethnic Groups and Discrimination

I person completelyy belong to the African American assembly. I have some white and Indian mixtures in my family, scarcely that is the main group that I identify with. My ethnic group did face a lot of prejudice, segregation, and racism. When we where first brought to this country, we came as slaves. We where to do what ever so our get the hang told us to do, which included: plowing fields, filling cotton, clean their homes, caring for their children, and even cooking for them. We would have to sterilise up at the break of day and do all of these things and would so far have to maintain our own families. There would be women in the fields with their babies wrapped in a gall tied to their backs. That shows how serious the masters were about getting the represent done. It did not matter what you had going on in your life, you still had to get your work done.
My people were degraded, beating, and called the worst name calling ever heard. They would beat them with long leather straps and sometimes would even slaughter them. They would rape the women and beat them if they ever spoke word of it. They where called names like: nigga, monkey, and would call the men boys and the women girls. I heard a lot of this information, first hand, from my great grandmother.



She even told me that some of them were even wet nurses, and that means that some of the slaves would entertain the children of their masters. This was, in my opinion, the lowest of the low that human beings where being treated like animals just because of the color of their skin.
